Some forty years ago, various mathematically oriented Christians began to write about the remarkable number symmetry of the opening line of the Old Testament. I myself wrote a piece about this some twenty years back, drawing on the original work of Vernon Jenkins. Let’s take a quick look at the Hebrew version of Genesis 1:1.
This verse, using standard Hebrew numerology, sums to 2701 – the 73rd triangular number. In addition, the first five words of the same verse sum to 1998, which is three times the number 666 – the 36th triangular number. Finally, the last two words of the verse sum to 703 – the 37th triangular number. This may be represented pictorially like this.
I’ve put the original verse in Hebrew around the outside to look cool!
But, coolness regardless, this numerical feat is actually quite incredible. The number 2701 exhibits “reflexive factorisation,” in that it equals 37 x 73. Aside of this, the number has an assortment of other unique and exciting properties.
What all this means is that Genesis 1:1 was created by a highly intelligent agent, likely one with some level of higher dimensional access. Perhaps a prophet, or someone channeling a discarnate intelligence. In addition, it points to the fact that higher-dimensional intelligences tend to encode information, or signal their presence, by using languages with fixed alphabets and geometric numbers. These are numbers that naturally lend themselves to geometric shapes. Examples include triagonal numbers – 3, 6, 10, 15 etc; square numbers – 1, 4, 9, 16, etc; and centred-hexagonal numbers – 1, 7, 19, 37, etc.
The Hebrew alphabet and geometric numbers lend themselves to this usage because, no matter how much time passes, the letters and the shapes remain the same. The information is “hard coded,” so to speak. Contrast this to the English language, for example, which has undergone various shifts in alphabet over the years, making it a little trickier to utilise in this manner.
The book of Genesis was written around 1400 BCE. Now let’s fast forward to the first century CE, the time when the gospels of the New Testament were being written. Likely the most prominent of the four gospels is the Gospel of John, not least because it features another account of how the universe was created in its first verse – John 1:1. Let’s take a look.
This famous verse is translated “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (KJV)
The original Greek version gives a numeration of 3627, (taking into account the subscript iota letter.)
Now, on the surface, this number might not look very exciting. It is not a geometric number. Yet, if we add it to our 2701, we get 6328, which is indeed an interesting number. It’s another triangular number, this time the 112th one. We can represent the relationship thus.
In addition, 6328 is a reworking of 2368 – one of the most important numbers of the Greek New Testament. 2368 is the number of the usual Greek translation of the name Jesus Christ.
Okay, cool. So what does all this mean? What it means, I submit, is that whoever wrote the Gospel of John, around 90 CE, understood the triangular nature of the words of Genesis 1:1, despite the fact that it wasn’t until around the 1980s that anyone else appears to have noticed it.
This implies that perhaps one entity was responsible for aspects of both the book of Genesis and that of John, despite some 1,500 years separating their being written. Another possibility is that the writer of John had cracked the Hebrew code surrounding Genesis and decided to indicate this by having the opening verse sum to a “plinth” number of 2701.
Now… let’s get weirder still!
Around thirty years ago, fans of Aleister Crowley’s famous channelled work, Liber AL vel Legis, discovered one possible key to the numerous number riddles that book poses, and that have stumped commentators for over a century. This was the alphanumeric cipher that came to be known as Alphanumeric Qabalah, or simply AQ. Like Crowley’s channelled book, it is in English. It looks like this.
You can see that it’s very logical and quite simple. The numbers 0 – 9 remain the same value. And, from there, the letters of the alphabet are in order, each being ascribed a value one up from the one before it.
This cipher became known because the line at the core of the Liber AL vel Legis – Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law – sums to 777 using this code, the number that Crowley himself identified as his. Let’s take a look.
So this gives a little background to AQ cipher. It has also been noted that various prominent lines of prose and poetry, such as notably the opening line of Milton’s Paradise Lost, sum to 666. See below.
Inspired by the above correlations, I took a look at the AQ value of John 1:1 in the King John translation. Here’s what I found.
Now, 1235, like its Greek counterpart, does not seem on the face of it too exciting a number. It’s not a geometric number, neither is it a plinth of 2701, nor of the other triangular numbers, 666 and 703.
Yet, multiply it by ten and we get 12350, which again, whilst not a geometric number, is nevertheless a plinth of 2701. 2701 + 12350 = 15051, a number which is both the 173rd triangular number and the 250th palindromic number.
Checking out the remaining verses of John 1 (KJV), I found more correlations.
John 1:16 (KJV) “John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.” AQ renders this 2150, yet another 2701 plinth number. 2701 + 2150 = 4851, the 98th triangular number.
John 1:22 (KJV) “And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.” AQ renders another plinth number, this time for 703 – 1712. 703 + 1712 = 2415, the 69th triangular number.
John 1:25 (KJV) “And they which were sent were of the Pharisees” renders with AQ the square number 784, whose root is 28.
John 1:28 reads “He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.” With AQ, this line gives 1670. 2701 + 1670 = 4371 – the 93rd (another God number, being triple 31) triangular number.
Yes, it could all be coincidence. Or it could be that the very same entity is once again peeping in through the curtains to announce its presence. Or perhaps it is the creative deity itself, popping by as if to say… This is my universe; there are many like it; but this one is mine!
With that thought, I leave you for now.
